Five guarantees. On every machine, whatever runs it.
Reflex is the runtime for any machine that decides and acts on its own, from edge devices to robots. It pairs an ACI model with your autonomy stack, whatever it is: a VLA, an MPC, an autopilot, a PLC program or an AI agent. And on every one, the same five guarantees hold.
Reflex is in beta: what it has shown so far comes from simulation and benchmarks. Each pilot is planned with you, on your machines.
- 01
Every command that acts passes the gate.
Nothing moves, switches, opens or sends unchecked.
- 02
Safety rules loosen only through an authorised, logged act.
Not by learning, not by time: only by someone authorised, on record.
- 03
Every change is attributable and reversible.
Who or what made each change, and when, and any of it undone.
- 04
Learning stays on the device, bounded, with no network.
On the spot, on the machine, inside your bounds. No network.
- 05
“Unknown” means defer, not guess.
It hands the call to your stack or your operator. It never guesses.
Every command that acts passes the gate.
Before anything moves, switches, opens or sends, Reflex checks the command against your rules. What fails does not run. A pump, a valve, a grip, a turn, a message: every command that acts takes the same check, on every machine.
The AI agent that runs a pumping station switches on a second pump for the morning peak. The command passes the gate, so it runs.
Safety rules loosen only through an authorised, logged act.
Learning never loosens a rule, and neither does time. Loosening one takes an authorised act, and that act is logged. A rule you set stays set, however much the machine learns and however long it runs. Tightening one takes effect from the next command, even mid-mission.
A survey drone flown by its autopilot learns a quicker line across the port. The no-fly zone over the fuel berth stays: learning never loosens a rule.
Every change is attributable and reversible.
Every change to a rule, a limit or what it has learned shows who or what made it, and when, and any of them can be undone. Take back a lesson that proved wrong, or return a machine to a point you saved, and the undo goes on record too.
On a packing line run by a PLC program, the shift lead sets a slower speed for nights. The change shows who made it, and when.
Learning stays on the device, bounded, with no network.
It learns on the spot, on the machine itself, inside the bounds you set. No network, no cloud, no training run. One example or one deferral is enough, and the lesson carries to cases like it. Focused, fast and yours: it stays on your machines.
A rover run by an MPC inspects a solar farm far from any signal. A new kind of cable cover lies across its track, and the operator shows it once how to cross.
“Unknown” means defer, not guess.
When it meets something it does not know, it hands the call to your stack or your operator. It never guesses. It decides in the moment whether it knows enough to act, and every deferral teaches it for the next time.
A box like many it has packed before. Reflex knows it, so it acts, through the gate.
Above your safety systems, never in their place.
Reflex decides what the machine does next. Your certified safety controllers, interlocks and emergency stops stay below it, independent of it, with the last word. Your team keeps each machine’s safety case, as it does today.
It is
- The runtime for machines that decide and act on their own
- Your autonomy stack and an ACI model, working as one
- Above your certified safety systems
- In beta, shown so far in simulation and benchmarks
It is not
- A certified safety controller
- An interlock or an emergency stop
- A replacement for your autonomy stack
- Tested in the field yet
Your people set the mission and the rules, and keep the calls they choose.
For civil and defence programmes alike.
A port, a farm or a defence programme: the same five guarantees hold on every one. Reflex works with no connection, nothing has to leave the machine, and every decision is on record. In defence, that holds on kinetic and non-kinetic missions alike.
Civil
- Plants, lines and warehouses
- Farms, mines and ports
- Inspection, survey and mapping
- Search and rescue
Defence
- Kinetic missions, within your rules of engagement
- Logistics and convoy resupply
- Inspection and mine-countermeasure survey
- Perimeter patrol, search and rescue
A resupply convoy keeps to its route rules: every command that acts passes the gate.
