Follow one decision through the gate.
A drone is inspecting a bridge when a dark line shows up on a pier. What Reflex does next happens in the moment, on the device, and every command passes the gate before it runs. Whether your stack is a VLA, an MPC, an autopilot, a PLC program or an AI agent, on a robot or an edge device, the steps are the same.
- Senses
- Seen before?
- Sure?
- Simulates the move
- Through the gate?
- Acts or defers
- Checks
- Learns on the spot
- On record
One decision, step by step.
Press play, or step through it.
Four ways a decision can go.
Every command passes the gate first. However it goes, your rules hold and the decision is on record.
It acts through your stack.
Reflex decides, the command passes the gate, and your stack carries it out with the skills it was built with.
- When
- It has seen this before, it is sure, and the command is inside your rules.
- What happens next
- It checks that it worked, and defers when it did not.
- What it learns
- What worked, for the next case like it.
- What goes on record
- What it sensed, what it decided and why, and the result it checked.
On an edge device
A smart camera on a packing line spots a dented carton it knows, and your PLC program pushes it off the line.
On a robot
A rover at a depot meets a pallet it moves every day, and your MPC drives it to the loading bay.
Has it seen this before?
Reflex knows what it has learned and what it has not. Something new is treated as new, never forced into the nearest thing it knows.
On earlier surveys it learned cracks, nests and rust, each from what it was shown.
Is it sure?
Reflex makes a call on its own only when it is sure. When it is not, the call goes to your stack or your operator.
It has learned enough cracks like this one to know what it is looking at.
Does the command pass the gate?
Every command that acts passes the gate. Before anything moves, switches, opens or sends, Reflex checks it against your rules, and what fails does not run. An action you keep for people always goes to them.
Holding position keeps the distance you set from the bridge.
It acts through your stack, or defers.
Sure, and inside your rules, Reflex acts through your stack. “Unknown” means defer, not guess. When it meets something it does not know, it hands the call to your stack or your operator. It never guesses.
A smart camera on a packing line spots a dented carton it knows, and your PLC program pushes it off.
Did it work?
Acting is not the end of it. Reflex checks that what it did worked, and defers to your stack when it did not.
The autopilot holds the drone steady, and the camera films the crack.
It learns on the spot.
One example is enough, and the lesson carries to cases like it. It learns on the device, inside the bounds you set, with no network, and any lesson can be undone.
The crack it filmed and checked becomes one more it knows.
On record, and it can be undone.
Every decision, every rule change and every lesson is on record, with who or what made it, and any of them can be undone. The record shows if anything in it was changed.
What it sensed: a dark line on a pier.
The same steps on every machine.
Edge devices and robots, whatever runs them: before every command, Reflex asks the same questions, and every answer is on record.
A smart camera on a line
A carton it knows, it sorts. One it has never seen goes to your PLC program.
An edge device at a pumping station
A pressure rise it has seen before, it eases. Shutting the main valve waits for your operator.
A gateway on a wind turbine
For a vibration it knows, it slows the rotor. One it cannot place goes to your engineers.
A rover at a depot
A pallet it knows, it moves. A load it has never seen goes to your stack.
A vessel in a harbour
A buoy it passes daily, it steers round. A course through the closed channel stops at the gate.
A convoy on resupply
A road it has driven, it takes. Where a road has closed since its last run, it plans round, inside your rules.
Sure, it acts. Unknown, it defers.
Every command passes the gate, every lesson is learned on the spot, on the device, and every step is on record.
